DYNAFLOW, INC. has developed innovative water purification, decontamination, and disinfection technology based on its patented DYNAJETS® cavitating jets technology (U.S. Patents No. 6,200,486 “Fluid Jet Cavitation Method and System for Efficient Decontamination of Liquids” and No. 6,221,260 “Swirling Fluid Jet Cavitation Method and System for Efficient Decontamination of Liquids”.) The developed water purification system is capable of high efficiency remediation using low to moderate pump pressures.
Using its proprietary cavitating and resonating jets, DYNAFLOW has demonstrated that the DYNAJETS® can achieve organic compounds oxidation and microorganisms reduction with energy efficiencies two orders of magnitude larger than those obtained with ultrasonic devices. As a remediation example of organic contamination, acetone can be removed from water much more economically than other Advanced Oxidation Processes such as hydrogen peroxide, ultraviolet light, ozone, and hydrogen peroxide. As a disinfection example, the DYNAJET® cavitating jet technology can destroy E-coli very efficiently resulting in a rapid 6-log concentration reduction.
The DYNAJETS® cavitating jet systems are based on an inexpensive hydro-mechanical source of cavitation and achieve both removal of microorganisms and reductions in organic pollutants without introduction of potentially toxic by-products. Such a technology could be used for treatment of brackish water, groundwater, wastewater, industrial process water, as a stand-alone process, or as a part of a treatment train, such as pre-processing or post-processing for membranes ultra-filtration.
